Obama Has Failed: Democrats Don't Mind

What do Obama and Romney truly disagree on?

There are basic ideological differences between the Republican and Democrats and these differences are what this election is being boiled down to. I may not have been old enough to understand or even remember the presidential campaigns of the past, but in my 19 years I know enough that it doesn’t even matter how other presidents ran this country. How Obama is comparing himself to the Clinton years and looking to the past or how the Democrats are accusing Romney’s policies as being just like President George W. Bush. The present campaign is completely polarized with the peoples votes being swayed by ideology, not by record and facts.

President Obama is giving himself an incomplete for his term as president: the national debt is above 16 trillion dollars and the current unemployment rate is at 8.3% (according to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics). Everything Obama promised has not happened. He promised to create jobs and to help the economy. After two huge stimulus bills, which were the basis of this “change”, nothing has happened. If anything the economy is worse. Obama gives no clear direction for the future, only stating that his “work is not finished”, that he needs to do more to help the people who cannot help themselves.
And that is where the fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans lie. The role of government.

Obama cannot run on his record…how could he? Any liberal who says Obama can run on his record are stupid, ill informed, and kidding themselves. Yes, he did give the order to kill Osama Bin Laden…but when do you this that operation and intel started? During the Bush Administration and Obama just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Yes, he did create Obama care, affordable health care for every citizen of the United States, it sounds wonderful! But, if it is truly so wonderful then how come half of the United States does not support it? How come states are fighting it? Yes, Obama fights for “women’s rights” by stating that contraception should be cheap, affordable, and even free. But, what the heck is he making religious institutions cover contraception in their health care policies? It is against their religion! Yes, Obama just now in this election year finally “comes out”, in support of gay marriage. Where was this support in all three years of his presidency? Oh yeah, he didn’t support it because he believed marriage should be between a man and a woman. By changing his stance in an election year he appears to the nation as wishy-washy and has angered many of his religious Baptist supporters. Obama has stated that Americans “didn’t build that” when referring to their small business’s and he himself creates a huge class divide by polarizing the evil and successful rich against the weak and defenseless poor. I could go on and on, but the question is still the same..how could anyone say that Obama is doing a good job?

It doesn’t matter if he is doing a bad job, ideologically what he is doing and saying is right in the eyes of the Democrats on the left. He has an incomplete because his job isn’t finished, he is still better than Romney because he doesn’t have a Swiss bank account and he understands our pain.

Romney’s family is the American Dream, he succeeded through hard work and diligence in that work, he created two companies and has succeeded leading people. But, it doesn’t matter. Romney cannot do anything to defend his money because in the eyes of left, money is bad and Romney can never, again, understand this country’s pain.

The Obama Campaign can do nothing to defend their record so they will attack Romney on social issues. They will state again and again on his war on women, how he is against abortion, how he is against gay marriage, and how he has a Swiss bank account. Anything to detract from the fact that Obama has a losing record. Romney will help the economy, unlike Obama, he understands how to make jobs, how investments work and what doesn't. Romney can create practical economic change and growth in this country.

But, the left will not vote for him because he is not in ideological lock step with them. Obama is.
One thing can be said: Ideology can be an impediment in politics because one can be stuck with an ideology that does not work when applied to reality and real life. It sounds great and it sounds fair and it sounds equal, but in reality all it creates is a failed economy and a more polarized base then before. That is what Obama has given this country and that is why he needs to get out.

The Dark Knight Rises: A Political Point of View?

On Saturday night, I finally went to go see the most talked about movie of the summer: The Dark Knight Rises. I love these movies. Batman Begins caught my attention when I was in high school, but of course, The Dark Knight made me fall in love with the whole franchise. The dark and gritty truth that Christopher Nolan and his writers exopse in his verison of the caped crusader have people hooked.

I did not read any reviews about the movie or any articles concerning the political nature of it either, but when watching it was blown away by how conservative this movie kind of was. At the end, I didn't really now what to think of it. Yes, I am a Conservative Republican , so I should be happy right? But, this movie plays on the darkest fears in a Republican and in turn should be everyone's fear ( all be it in very over dramatized, super-hero, League of Shadow's kind of way).

Yes, it was an awesome super-hero movie hands down and when my two (very libral) friends asked me what I thought of it..that's is all I said about it, and then uncomfortably moved like I had an itch and said a little quieter, "and the messages that the movie conveyed, I think, were pretty good too". Of course, they asked me what I meant and I said I didn't know; I would have to dwell on it. They thought the film supported the Occupy Wall Street movement....and I bit my tongue. You can't have friends if you talk about politics and religion.

The film exposed the maddness that happens in revolutions, socialist revolutions. Giving the power to the poor, the majority, and then taking down the disgusting ugly rich. It weaves in the ideals of business and the ideals of a capitalist society brought down to the whims and compaints of "how dare they have more". After thinking the movie over, I also thought of Atlas Shrugged and the philosophy of Ayn Rand. There is a definite message that individuals "rising" and making money should not be for the benifit of everyone. That making money is not evil. And for everyone "sharing" everything is bad for a society's soul because it is fundamentally wrong.

Yes, I do believe that The Dark Knight Rises is a pro-capitalist and pro-conservative movie. But, all in all it was a great super hero movie. The Batman ends with a bang literally and figuratively.

My opinion and it is left up to everyone's interpretations.

Anne Hathaway informs Batman that "A storm is coming." That storm being the Bane Revolution and then regrets ever wishing this on anyone...knowing that the revolution was wrong.

"This used to be someone's home."
"Now it's everyone's home!"---------That line gave me shivers because this statement people truly truly beileve is okay.

Foreign Policy in the Presidential Campaign

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Have just read a great article from The Economist which I have posted above, which clearly states that Obama's disposition on foreign relations has been dismal to say the least.

Romney, I believe, will have the upper hand after his foreign tour because he will finally hard line the issues that have been central to the Obama administration and finally spell out his views and plans for foreign policy if elected president.

The Obama campaign is full of excuses, excuses, excuses when it comes to his foreign policy (and really any desicion he makes. It's the Bush Administration's fault, the rich, the private sector is fine....and his excuse for not visiting Israel: promised to do it in second term, and Ronald Regean never made it there when he was president.

Obama is one of the most incompetent president when it comes to dealing with the Unites States's enemies and it's allies. He bows to the Middle East and has even visited countries there, but skips by Israel's issues how has always been one of the US greatest allies.

Short and to the point: Obama is an amateur.

Chick-fil-A Controversy

I woke up this morning and engaged in my normal morning routine: shower, coffee, then checking out the latest news stories. Instead of the usual posts about the conflict in Syria and the election campaign, every major news site, reddit, talk radio, and the morning talk shows were in outrage over Chick-fil-A's comments concerning gay marriage.

Hurr?

My first thought was: "Damn the president of Chick-fil-A must have said something really inappropriate and mean that have made people so angry enough--- to have the mayors of Chicago and Boston banning the sale of their delicious chicken!" But, after some searching through a few articles, all Dan Cathy said on the matter (when asked by the Baptist Press Online: which is, um, religious):

"We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”

What is wrong with that statement? There were no derogatory statements made about gays or anything of the sort that showed that they were intolerant bigots. It is a family-run business that expresses the views of the family. It is actually no surprise to me, and I don't think that this view surprises anybody. I mean, they don't open their stores on Sunday....obviously the company founder and family is religious. But, now that they mildly say they believe in a traditional family unit in print everyone is losing their minds. Who cares? It is their business, if people don't like that then they don't have to choose to go eat some of their particularly AMAZING waffle fries with the yummy creation that is the Chick-fil-A sauce.

It blows my mind that Mayor Rahm Emanual (oh, yeah this one doesn't really blow my mind) and Mayor Thomas Menino would put forth actions to ban Chick-fil-A restaurants in their districts because the company believes in the "traditional family unit". It is intolerant, bad politics, and bad business. It is not their place to ban religious freedom because their voter base is angry that the company is not flinging rainbows at everybody, they should uphold laws not popular opinion. Yes, it is not that great of PR on the company's part , but whatever....it is their right. It is their freedom to do so. Just like it is the Henson family's choice and right to stop the deal of Chick-fil-A using their Muppets in the company's kids meals. They are both family-run business's that are allowed to engage in ideological battles and have their own personal beliefs which influence their respective companies.

Just because Chick-fil-A's owners don't fully support gay marriage....so what? People who don't like that and think that is intolerant shouldn't eat there. But, don't be intolerant yourselves and think that Chick-fil-A has no right to express these views...they do. Stop whining to the government to save you from these horrible religious people who just wont except you because that in turn just makes you an intolerant bigot. Respect peeps.

Come, on. This guy looks super nice.
Lisa Henson is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage. I wonder if people who are kinda religious will not let their kids watch Sesame Street anymore?
Ugh. Now matter how cool this guys name is, he is still such a little douche.

Though I just started my blog today, I am still going to drill right in!

I already touched on this topic in my opener and I am now going to dedicate an entire post to the subject! President Obama's insulting of Poland that happened on Tuesday of this week. I am sure that this wont be really touched on, on many news stories and I'm sure a lot of you would have even overlooked this story. But, this is an important slip made by the President that solidifies the fact that his interest in Poland is minimal, which is sad because they have been and are a strong ally of the US.

This big slip happened when Obama was giving a speech, at an event honoring a WWII hero, Jan Karski. Obama accidently stated that there were "Polish death camps" instead of "Nazi death camps".....

Yeah, initially this may not seem to be a big deal, but once you let it sink in you realize the President of the United States on record stated the the Polish were in charge of the death camps and not the Nazis...oops. This "slip" deeply upset Polish officials and leaders, and the citizens, considering this is probably all over their own newspapers. This slip-up, made not quite healed wounds start seeping blood again as the Poles called for an apology.

Obama did issue a letter of apology to Poland's Prime Minister, but all that I can say is "Really Obama, REALLY?"

Jefferey T. Kuhner, a columnist from the Washington Times, wrote an article published today that shows this slip in speech is more than that; it shows the Obama Administration as unwillingness to placate Poland and hasn't really considered Poland over his 4 years in office. The Obama Administration instead of balancing our Polish ally's feelings and needs with Russia's, Obama has obviously chosen Russia. Obama "has withdrawn plans to install missile defense sites in Poland" and has continued to "reset" relations with Vladimir Putin (who I think is a particularly nasty man). The article is very enlightening on the subject and I will post the link.

Obama, Obama, Obama, what are we going to do with you? I know you are not the first politician who hasn't cared for Poland, but maybe you could be the first liberal who does, considering, you know, you are the President of the US.

Have I drilled deep enough?

Greetings and Salutations

Hello Blog-o-sphere!

This blog has been created on a spontaneous thought that came to me this Friday morning while reading the newspaper. I have spent my last two years in college (and high school years) watching the news and reading the newspaper; taking an interest in politics, without actually wanting to spend my life devoted to politics or actually getting involved. I have also spent the last two years talking to my friends and peers about the goings-ons in our country and they have no idea what I'm talking about or don't care (my talking usually ends with one of my friends saying "Mags...Shut-up."). I have found a way with being involved without really being involved (med-school hopes and dreams keep me busy!) and it is this blog!

The wide spectrum of high schoolers and college schoolers should care because IT. IS. IMPORTANT! There is too much ignorance or lack of caring in our demographic, you should want to watch the news, you should want to question what your professors and teachers are telling, and again you should care!

I hope for this blog to do just that: touch those high schoolers and college "intellectuals" and raise interest in social issues, political issues, and economic issues. An interest that I hope will be deeper than people's interest the Kony campaign and the John Stewart Show (even though he is very funny and makes me laugh, he also makes my blood boil).

I hope to connect with young people around the United States and around the world and raise awareness on the issues I bring up, whether there be disagreements or agreements or arguing or name-calling; we are talking about these issues! I wish to know your point of views and connect with my readers (if you care to connect with me ): ). I wish to inform you, while you also inform me! Whether these issues are about the presidential campaign, the conflict in Syria, President Obama'a comments about Poland this past week, or even community issues I hope we can discuss them all.

I wish to be your auger; drilling into issues and getting straight to the roots of conflicts, the truth.
Thanks and Talk To You Soon,
The Young Auger
